The Problem
Once a pristine waterbody, Chandapura Lake has now fallen victim to pollution, a fate shared by many lakes in Bengaluru. A steady inflow of wastewater contaminates the lake, disrupting its biodiversity. The natural ecosystem that once thrived is altered over time. The mixing of wastewater with fresh water creates an unpleasant odour, robbing the lake of the tranquillity that once attracted visitors seeking peace and calm.
Our natural solution
Our approach to treating the polluted waters was installing a patch of Floating Gardens. We erected a sizable Floating Garden of 1,800 sq. ft. on the lake. The plants in these gardens used the natural process of biofiltration to purify the lake waters. The wastewater was effectively treated through this eco-friendly and sustainable method.
Pursuing purity at Chandapura Lake
Chandapura Lake needed urgent attention to mitigate the wastewater influx. The deteriorated water quality was reversed using a sustainable and eco-friendly method—Floating Gardens. The installation of Floating Gardens effectively enhanced water quality while also restoring the balance of a thriving wildlife ecosystem in and around the lake.
